First Review of 'If You Could Only See' EP

So this is where it all starts, the first EP review and we couldn't ask for a better start.

Track 1 – Seems So Simple

What a simple but edgy first song to an overall fantastic EP. At first, you think its going to be a mellow song with stunning opening lyrics from Deans, his voice reminds me of an indie version of Chris Rea or Rod Stewart from his Small Faces days. It soon kicks in with the rest of the band performing unique sounds that hit the right spot and fit perfectly with the lyrics.  It all works pleasantly well for this opening tune, after listening to the song for the third time I’ve already got to know the lyrics, which for me is always a sign of a fine tune.

Track 2 – My Little War

With a rocky longer introduction to My Little War which reminds me of a Beady Eye tune mixed with a bit of The Jam and The Who as my mate so kindly quoted, this song creates a definite head rocking notion and a bit of leg tapping to keep you going, the opening of the song builds up and steadily flows throughout.  Nice.

Track 3 – My Brother’s Keeper

This song reminds me of a mix of Stone Roses, The Verve and Kasabian, its got the classic style lyrics but with a modern-day twist of an indie/rock theme.  I like it…a lot. Really like the chorus and I quickly got to know the words yet again. Superb catchy tune. Really good in fact.

Track 4 - A Hundred Days

Instantly kicks off with husky lyrics from lead singer Deans who captures your mind straight away with strong lyrics.  With this song you hear a soft side to Deans voice, the song draws you in a romantic melody that all can relate to in some way or another. Whether this song is about love or not, it’s a beautiful composed song. The guitar at the end really tops it off as a class tune. Boom.

Track 5 - Looking Up & Under

Great intro to this song, so if you like We Are Scientists ‘Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt’ then your going to love this song! Really funky beat to it with an up-beat tempo. Love the composition of the drums in this melody.

Track 6 – Live Your Live (As You Live It In Your Dreams)

Save the best till last?? Yes, I think so. Straight into the lyrics, this song is first-class and the song title for this track says it all about this EP overall and the message it is portraying. A really polite ending to a fantastic debut from The 633. Can definitely see a bit of old skool Oasis in this tune. Has an awesome guitar piece nearer the end of the melody which finalizes it as a master-piece tune.
